This policy explains what information Jerry Smith Fine Arts collects when you visit this website, send a message or commission request, or book a portrait, and how it’s used. I collect only what’s needed to run the site and paint your portrait, and I never sell your information.
What I collect
- Bookings: your name, email address, billing address, phone number if you give it, and the portrait size you choose.
- Payments: handled by Stripe, including card payments and options such as Apple Pay, Google Pay and Klarna. Your full card number goes directly to Stripe and is never stored on this website. I can see limited details, such as the card type and last four digits.
- Messages and commission requests: your name, email, phone number if you give it, and what you tell me about the portrait, such as who it’s of, the size, the occasion and the date you need it.
- Reference photographs: the photos you send me to paint from, which I use only to create your portrait.
- Technical information: like most websites, the server records basic information such as your IP address and browser type for security and to keep the site running.
How it’s used
- To reply to your messages and commission requests.
- To process your booking, paint your portrait and arrange delivery.
- To send emails about your commission, such as confirmations, progress and payment of the balance.
- To keep the site secure and working properly.
Who it’s shared with
Only with the services that help run the site, and only as much as each one needs:
- Stripe, to process payments.
- Hostinger, which hosts this website and sends its email.
- Google Fonts, which supplies the typefaces on this site; your browser connects to Google to load them.
- jsDelivr, a content delivery network that supplies the code for the 3D gallery.
- A shipping carrier, if your finished portrait is shipped, which receives your name and delivery address.
I may also share information if required by law.
Cookies
The site uses a small number of cookies needed for it to work, such as remembering what’s in your cart and keeping you signed in at checkout. Stripe may set cookies at checkout to help prevent fraud. I don’t use advertising or analytics cookies.
How long it’s kept
Booking and payment records are kept for as long as needed for accounting, tax and legal purposes. Messages, commission requests and reference photographs are kept only as long as needed to complete your portrait and follow up.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information I hold about you, subject to records I must keep by law. California residents have additional rights under California privacy law, including the right to know what information is collected and to request its deletion. To make a request, please use the contact form.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
