Jerry Smith is a California-based artist and photographer with a lifelong appreciation for faces, light, character, and the stories people carry with them. Portraiture in oils is the heart of the work.
After serving in the United States Marine Corps and many years outside the art world, retirement brought the time to return seriously to painting. Jerry continues to study the methods and techniques that have made painted portraits compelling for centuries.
